Word Wall Words
Here are some words to know when reading The Curious Garden. We are able to better understand the story when we build our vocabulary and know the words that the author uses. Add the following words to your personal word wall. Challenge yourself to use these words when writing and speaking, as well.
Curious: eager to learn or know; inquisitive
Dreary: dull; boring
Drizzly: to rain gently and steadily in fine drops; sprinkle
Garden: a plot of ground where flowers, shrubs, vegetables, fruits, or herbs are grown
Interrupt: to break off or cause to cease; as in the middle of something
Wandering: moving from place to place without a fixed plan
Wildflowers: the flower of a plant that grows in fields or forests without deliberate cultivation
